i) COORDINATOR I&U Forum, ASIA PACIFIC TELECOMMUNITY, (THAILAND): DECEMBER 1999 TO DATE: Working to developing Road Map for Asia Pacific countries to identify key trends in exploiting Info Communication Technologies (ICT). A number of Initiatives were taken in preparing IP based strategy covering fields of:

· Satellite & Optical Fiber based Infrastructure to bridge Digital-Divide gap.

· Broad Band access technologies to deal with the the deployment of NGN.

· Key Issues in Establishing Regulatory and Policy framework.

· Entry and licensing in the changing Environment.

ii) CHAIRMAN, APT STUDY GROUPS & VICE-CHAIRMAN APT MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE, (THAILAND AUGUST 1987 TO NOVEMBER 1999:
Developed Guidelines on Optical Fiber systems, commensurate with geographical & economic diversity of Member states, specially covering topics of :

· Design & System Engineering of Optical Fiber Transmission options

· Optical Fiber Technologies in Access Network (FILL)

· Developing Asia Pacific Information Infrastructure.

· Member of Working Group set-up for harmonization of Regional Standards.

iii) APRIL 1972 TO 1979: Loaned to Ministries of P.T.T. and Defense & Civil Aviation, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as Transmission Expert. Major assignments performed :

· Conduction of System Verification Testing of Telecom -Backbone of PTT.

· Preparation of Maintenance programme of Backbone Telecom of Ministry of PTT.

· Arranged Telecast Programme on Special Events for Ministry of Information

· Wrote Technical Proposal for Optical Fiber Project of Jubile Sea-Port

NATIONAL EXPERIENCE:

i) OCTOBER 1999 TO Date; Senior General Manager (IT) Education Management at Telecom Foundation & Sultana Foundation responsible to:

· Arrange Post-Diploma Electronics, Telecommunication, Computer & IT Technologies.

· Prepare Project report for Pakistan Railways on Optical Fiber SDH Network.

· Prepare Feasibility report of a Cable TV Turnkey Project.

ii) SEPTEMBER 1998 TO October 1999: Worked as Member (Technical), National Telecommunication Corporation-NTC (Ministry of Communications) to perform under mentioned major responsibilities:

· Formulated Technical Policies commensurate with organizational Goals & objectives

· Monitored ICT Basic Services using Optical Fiber based infrastructure

· Prepared Project to load Optical Fiber pair, with SDH & NMS Equipment

· Developed WAN/INTRANET Project for Ministries on good Governance

· Provided Technical Management for Optical & Microwave Backbone

· Co-ordinated Human Resource Development (HRD) of IT & Telecom Industry

iii) APRIL 1992 TO SEPT 1998: Head of Baluchistan, Faisalabad & Islamabad Telecommunication Regions of PTCL. Major Responsibilities include:

· Implemented Rehabilitation Programme of Regional Copper-based Network
